Mercedes would negotiate deal if Renault buys Lotus

Mercedes are willing to "find a solution" if Renault were to buy back the Lotus outfit which currently has a Mercedes engine deal in place. Speculation suggests the French manufacturer has already agreed a deal to purchase 51 per cent of the Lotus outfit it previously owned from current owner Gerard Lopez. Neither party has confirmed the deal, but when the question of engine supply was put to Mercedes' Toto Wolff, he hinted that Mercedes wouldn't cause problems for Renault. "At the moment the [Lotus] contract runs from 2015 to 2020," he confirmed. "If Renault comes in and Lotus wants to get out of the contract, we will find a solution," he is quoted...
