2019 McLaren-Honda F1 car closed cockpit concept
At the end of last season, Williams’ F1 performance chief Rob Smedley says it would be technically straightforward to introduce closed cockpits into Formula 1, should the sport decide to in the wake of Jules Bianchi's accident. New debates were sparked about the advantages of switching to closed cockpits. While for the time being it seems as though such a dramatic change is unlikely to eventuate in F1, Dutch designer Andries van Overbeeke has decided to render how a futuristic McLaren F1 car could look with a closed cockpit.
