Palmer ruled out of 2017 Lotus seat

– Lotus Deputy Team Principal Federico Gastaldi says that Jolyon Palmer must wait until 2017 before a race seat opens up at the squad.GP2 Champion Palmer joined Lotus as reserve driver at the start of the campaign and has already participated in selected free practice and test outings in the E23 Hybrid.Palmer has expressed his hope of gaining a race seat with Lotus in 2016 but Gastaldi says that both Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean are signed up for next season."No, at the moment we have the same [drivers]," Gastaldi told F1i when asked about Palmer's 2016 chances."Pastor and Romain are signed until the end of the next season and we hope Jolyon will stay with us...
