Alonso encouraged by McLaren test progress

McLaren Honda Fernando Alonso says he has been encouraged by McLaren's progress across the post-race test in Austria as the squad bids to recover from two dismal races. McLaren suffered two successive double retirements in Canada and Austria, with mechanical issues and penalties affecting both Alonso and Jenson Button, prior to the Spaniard being eliminated in the race by Kimi Raikkonen. McLaren returned to action at the post-race test on Tuesday, with test and development driver Stoffel Vandoorne enjoying a trouble-free day.
