Wittmann 'surprised' after Toro Rosso test

Reigning DTM champion Marco Wittmann has called his maiden test in Formula 1 'an amazing experience' after notching up a marathon amount of laps for Toro Rosso. The German 'tin tops' driver leaves the Red Bull Ring having recorded the highest total of laps by any driver in the two-day in-season F1 test with 158 in total. His fastest lap, a 1m 10.103s, saw him end the day fourth on the timesheet and a full second of quickest driver Nico Rosberg. After all the teams lost valuable running time on the first day due to heavy rain the Toro Rosso squad made the most of largely bright and dry conditions working on aerodynamics, tyres and race setup.
