Wehrlein quickest on first day of testing

– Mercedes reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein set the pace during the afternoon session on the first day of running at the Red Bull Ring as track conditions improved following early torrential rain.The morning session was a virtual washout, with only McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne and Ferrari's Antonio Fuoco emerging for an exploratory lap before organisers put out the red flag for several hours due to the conditions.Consequently, the test session was extended by two hours until 8pm local time.Wehrlein posted a time of 1:11.095 on a dry circuit to end the day almost two-tenths of a second faster than Force India's Esteban Ocon.
