Alonso set for race penalty after engine change

Fernando Alonso looks set to face race penalties as well as a drop to the back of the grid after the FIA confirmed how many engine components he was changing on Friday. The McLaren team has elected to change Alonso's internal combustion unit, his MGU-H and turbo ahead of the Red Bull Ring event, which will mean a 20-place grid penalty in total. However, with McLaren-Honda not having displayed the competitiveness this season to fight near the front for pole position, it is highly unlikely that the Spaniard will be able to take his full drop on the grid. That means some of the punishment will carry over to the race, where he will likely have to take a drive through penalty early in the race....
