Hulkenberg to start debut Le Mans 24 Hours from third

Nico Hulkenberg will start his maiden Le Mans 24 Hours from third place, after the Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP1 cars dominated qualifying. The Force India driver shares the #19 Porsche with Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber. Hulkenberg will be the first active F1 driver to compete in the famous endurance event since 2009. The German has already raced the 919 Hybrid, finishing sixth at the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa last month in Belgium. Tandy's best lap time in Le Mans qualifying was just under two seconds slower than the pole position time of 3:16.887 set by the #18 Porsche of Neel Jani, Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas.
