Vettel hit with grid penalty for FP3 incident
Sebastian Vettel had been given a five-place grid penalty for overtaking under red flags during third practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. The German driver was also handed three penalty points on his license by the stewards for the incident, which took place during the second red flag of the session. 'I was behind the Manor and I don't know what the problem was with him, he was quite slow and I passed him,' Vettel told media on the move afterwards. Vettel was found to have passed Manor's Roberto Merhi during the red flag, after both drivers visited the stewards following qualifying for tomorrow's race.
