Vettel handed five-place grid penalty
Sebastian Vettel has been handed a five-place grid penalty for his red-flag incident during final practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver was summoned by the stewards after overtaking the Manor of Roberto Merhi while the red flags were out. Vettel said he thought Merhi was having problems. "Obviously there was a red flag at the time, I was behind the Manor and I don't know what was the problem with him, he was quite slow and I passed him," Vettel said. Ferrari driver Vettel was found guilty of overtaking under red flags and was hit with a five-position penalty. He was also awarded three penalty points.
