Verstappen pins race hopes on safety car

Max Verstappen is pinning his hopes of a good result in the Canadian Grand Prix on a safety car that will help him close the gap to the cars in front. The Toro Rosso driver was given a five-place grid penalty for his crash with Romain Grosjean in Monaco, and got a further 10-place penalty after having to use his fifth engine of the season. Verstappen qualified in 12th position, meaning he will also get a 10-second time penalty in the race as he cannot serve his 15-place grid penalty in full due to his qualifying position.  The Dutchman admitted it will be a hard race unless he gets help from a safety car period.
