Hamilton secures pole for Canadian GP

Mercedes AMG Petronas World Champion Lewis Hamilton secured pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix, ahead of Nico Rosberg, while Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was knocked out in Q1. Hamilton posted a time of 1:14.393 early on in the final shootout session to beat team-mate Rosberg by three-tenths of a second and collect the 44th pole position of his Formula 1 career. Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen finished a further three-tenths of a second behind Rosberg, while compatriot Valtteri Bottas will complete the second row of the grid.
