Hamilton shrugs off practice crash
Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton topped the times in Montreal but was left to downplay the effects of crashing out of a wet second practice session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Hamilton went quickest in the dry and emerged back on track when torrential rain struck the circuit. Hamilton slid off at the hairpin and nosed the front of his Mercedes into the barriers. "It literally was like being on ice and I was just a passenger," he explained. "Looking at the onboard I accelerate through the gears, come off the power, I’m cruising in and brake and it just goes straight, not the greatest but you have to laugh it off and the guys will work hard to fix it."...
