Lotus: Grosjean did not brake test Verstappen
Red Bull/Getty Images Lotus has dismissed suggestions that Romain Grosjean brake-tested Max Verstappen in the lead up to their collision at the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend. Grosjean was defending 10th position from the Toro Rosso driver when Verstappen clipped the back of his rival on the approach to Sainte Devote and consequently slammed into the barriers. Verstappen retired on the spot while Grosjean recovered to finish in 12th position. In the immediate aftermath Verstappen accused Grosjean of brake testing him, a claim he re-iterated on his official website on Wednesday.
