Verstappen penalised for Monaco crash
Max Verstappen has been penalised for the accident which turned today's race on its head. In a canny move, the Dutch youngster latched on to the back of Sebastian Vettel as he weaved through the backmarkers, aided by waved blue flags. As the Ferrari prepared to lap Romain Grosjean the Toro Rosso driver prepared to take full advantage, but the Frenchman was fully prepared. Letting the Ferrari past, the Lotus driver then returned to the racing line to halt Verstappen's progress. For the next couple of laps the pair ran nose to tail until Verstappen finally made a lunge at Ste Devote, hitting the right-rear of the Lotus and subsequently spearing into the barriers.
