Verstappen slapped with grid penalty for Grosjean clash

Max Verstappen has been handed a five-place grid penalty for the Canadian Grand Prix after being blamed for causing the collision with Romain Grosjean that took him out of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Dutchman endured an eventful race day after climbing to eighth place, only to lose significant ground with a slow pit-stop that dropped him to 14th. However, a decision to switch him back to super-soft tyres in the closing stages would revitalise him form as he quickly made up ground, even planting a ballsy overtake on Valtteri Bottas when he followed Sebastian Vettel through to lap them.
