Sainz Jr penalised, to start Monaco GP from pit lane
Carlos Sainz Jr will start Monaco's Grand Prix from the pit lane after being penalised by race stewards for failing to stop for compulsory weighing during Saturday's qualifying. The Spanish driver had qualified in eighth place but now looks unlikely to score any points in Sunday's race on Monaco's street circuit where overtaking is notoriously difficult. Sainz Jr -- son of two-time rally world champion Carlos Sainz -- failed to stop for weighing during Q1 'when signalled to do so by the red traffic light,' motorsport's governing body FIA said.
