Sainz hoping to cure heavy fuel issues

Carlos Sainz says he is hoping to have made progress with the Toro Rosso during F1 testing at the Circuit de Catalunya after an unfulfilling Spanish Grand Prix. The Spaniard produced a marvellous qualifying performance in front of his home fans to start the race in fifth, but a poor start and problems getting the car up to speed on a heavy fuel load saw him drop as low as 11th. Though he would eventually clamber his way up to ninth for two points, Sainz says the test was an opportunity to rectify the issues of that race day. “We were really focused on the long run and the tyre management at the beginning of the race with the high fuel loads as we saw it was a weakness of the weekend,”...
