Nico Rosberg tops test day one in Spain

Last weekend's Spanish Grand Prix race winner Nico Rosberg ended day one of the in-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya with the quickest time, more than two seconds faster than his nearest rival. The German Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS driver ran a day-high 146 laps around the Spanish track, and set a best time of 1m24.374s, which was 2.250s faster than second placed Marcus Ericsson of the Sauber F1 Team, who himself ran 97 laps. Ferrari Driver Academy driver Raffaele Marciello was third quickest for the Scuderia Ferrari team, setting a lap time just 0.024s slower than Ericsson, and will take over the Swede’s drive in the Sauber team for day two on Wednesday.
