Alonso's race-ending brake failure adds to McLaren woes

Fernando Alonso entered the Spanish Grand Prix hopeful of a top-10 finish to give McLaren its first points this season, only to complete less than half the race as a brake failure sent him back to the garage. The two-time Formula One champion's best performance this season remains 11th at last month's Bahrain GP. Things are looking bleak for McLaren, with Jenson Button finishing 16th on Sunday. Alonso last won a race two years ago on the same Catalunya track, driving for Ferrari, but a podium finish now seems very unlikely given McLaren's struggles.
