Barcelona renews Formula 1 contract until 2019

– The future of the Spanish Grand Prix has been secured for a further three years after officials confirmed that the race will remain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya until 2019.Formula 1 made its first visit to the track, located to the North of Barcelona, in 1991 and this year the circuit celebrates its 25th anniversary.The circuit's current deal ran until the end of 2016 but that has now been extended for another three campaigns."We are extremely proud to announce this renewal in such a special year, marking the 25th anniversary of Formula 1 Grand Prix being hosted uninterruptedly at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya," said circuit President Vicenç...
