Bottas pleased to hold off Vettel for fourth
+ Valtteri Bottas says he was pleased to hold off the advances of Sebastian Vettel to claim his best finish of the year at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Bottas, starting fifth, had a ‘lonely’ race until the final stint, when Vettel rejoined behind him on track after an unscheduled stop for a fresh front wing. The Finn held off the Ferrari racer over the closing laps to secure fourth, his highest finish since last year’s season finale in Abu Dhabi. “I am pleased with the race and happy with fourth position,” he said. “It was a real shame for the team that Felipe had an issue at the start. “It was a lonely race but the final 20 laps were very tough.
