Alonso vaults, Button halts in Bahrain qualifying

While Jenson Button 's rancid weekend at the Bahrain Grand Prix continued, teammate Fernando Alonso offered a glimmer of hope for McLaren during qualifying on Saturday. Afflicted by power unit issues in both practice sessions on Friday, Button 's weekend looked like it was past its worst after a reliable running in final practice, only to have his car fail in Q1 later in the day. 'I don't really know what happened; it felt a bit similar to what occurred on Friday morning when everything shut down on the car.
