Mercedes denies Hamilton has requested number one status

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has denied Lewis Hamilton has asked to have a number-one-driver clause in order to finalise his new deal with the team. Although Hamilton said during the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend that the deal was "99.6 per cent" done, the new contract has not yet been signed. But Wolff insists it is just a matter of time before the deal is finalised, and rubbished speculation that the British driver had demanded a special clause that would make him the team's number one driver.
