Jolyon Palmer gets FP1 run-out
Lotus test and reserve driver Jolyon Palmer was handed his first official outing for the team in free practice one for the Chinese Grand Prix. The reigning GP2 champion was handed Romain Grosjean's car in the first session and duly completed 25 laps in the E23, setting a time six tenths off the pace of first-team driver Pastor Maldonado to go 15th fastest. Speaking afterwards, the Briton seemed pleased with his day's work. “I've been waiting to get my hands on the E23 during a Grand Prix weekend and the experience didn't disappoint,” he said. “There was a lot to learn as I haven’t driven for two months.
