Jorda supportive of female grand prix series

Lotus F1 development driver Carmen Jorda believes the idea to create an all-female grand prix series to run alongside Formula 1 is 'fantastic'. F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone revealed over the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend that he had suggested to teams a championship exclusively for women, to try and get more females into the sport. 'Nowadays you see women competing in their own championships in most sports: football, tennis, skiing – you name it – and in none of these championships are men and women competing against each other, so the question is: why not have a F1 world championship for women?'
