Perez believes penalty was unfair

Sergio Perez said that he thought the collision between him and Romain Grosjean was a 'racing incident' in a disappointing race for the Force India team. Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean came together on lap 31 when the Lotus driver attempted to overtake on the outside of turn 12. The Mexican was adjudged to have cuased the collision by not giving Grosjean enough room and was handed a ten second penalty, which he served at his next pit stop. Speaking after the race, he conceded that he struggled with degradation problems and it was clear that Perez also thought the penalty was unjust, believing that he 'couldn't avoid contact with Romain'.
