Rosberg goes fastest as Hamilton hits trouble – FP1 Report

Nico Rosberg has gone fastest in Malaysian FP1. He was 0.3 seconds faster than Kimi Raikkonen who was second ahead of team-mate Sebastian Vettel. Championship leader Lewis Hamilton broke down on track without setting a time. Bright skies and a clear hot day with track temperatures in the high 30s greeted the drivers as the lights turned green at 10am local time, with Marcus Ericsson the first man to take to the track. Within minutes, a landmark moment was witnessed when the Manor Marussia of Will Stevens left the garage for the first time, signalling the birth of a new team.
