Mercedes Cash Offer to Save German GP Rejected

After the confirmation that the German Grand Prix will not be held, due to the inability to strike a deal with Bernie Ecclestone, comes the news that Mercedes Benz had offered financial assistance in order to save its' national race. After the original venue for this year (Nurburgring) was unable to raise the finances to hold the event, efforts were made to organise it at Hockenheim. The country which has held a race since 1960 has seen dwindling spectators at the home race since the days of Michael Schumacher.
