Insurers Payout 1.8 Million Euros for Alonso's Crash

Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Alonso's Barcelona testing crash has so far cost the insurers 1.8 millions euros. The insurance cover also has comprehensive clauses regarding driver fitness, which meant the team had to ensure their driver followed medical advice to the letter to ensure future cover. This has meant that Alonso, despite being able to undertake a vigorous training regime, was unable to drive in Australia.
