Marko claims teams have "no chance" of catching Mercedes

Red Bull's Helmut Marko believes Mercedes' rivals will "never catch" the world champions such is the advantage it holds under the V6 turbo hybrid engine regulations. Renault-powered Red Bull is lobbying hard for regulation changes in Formula One after Mercedes' advantage appears as strong as ever in 2015. "The crux of this whole power unit problem is that it was decided to freeze the development," Marko told Speedweek. "Forget the tokens. Whoever found themselves behind in preparing for this (turbo V6) concept has no chance of ever catching up." Marko acknowledged it is unlikely Red Bull's rivals will consent to a rule change.
