Hopes fade on 2015 German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix could be dropped from this season's calendar after Hockenheim reportedly turned down the chance to stage the race, in a decision that seems to have ended months of uncertainty over the country’s Grand Prix. The absence of Germany, home of the reigning world champions, Mercedes, for the first time since 1960 leaves the F1 calendar with 19 races. Georg Seiler, managing director of the circuit, said Hockenheim would not be putting on the race which was due to take place on 19th July. Seiler told German newspaper Bild: 'We have no more hope that Formula One will take place here. Time has expired for organising a race here. The quality of the event would have suffered....
