Bottas taken to hospital for back checks

Valtteri Bottas was taken to hospital for checks after he ended qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix limping due to back pains. The 25-year-old Finn, who qualified in sixth place, three places behind his Williams teammate Felipe Massa, was seen limping after getting out of his car. Bottas skipped the post-qualifying television interviews. "Valtteri was suffering with his back and lost a lot of time at the last corner," Williams engineer Rob Smedley said. "I don't know what's happened, whether he's jarred his back or something." The Finn was taken to the medical centre first and then to hospital for further checks.
