Sauber to appeal Van der Garde decision

Sauber F1 Team Sauber is appealing the decision of the Victorian Supreme Court to enforce Giedo van der Garde's successful application for a race seat. Van der Garde took the squad to court amid claims that he held a valid contract for 2015. After a Swiss tribunal ruled in his favour last week, the court in Melbourne also sided with the Dutch driver. Sauber's appeal began late on Wednesday afternoon and will continue on Thursday. "We are disappointed with this decision and now need to take time to understand what it means and the impact it will have on the start of our season," Team Principal Monisha Kaltenborn said shortly after the initial verdict.
