Mercedes unveils new safety & medical Cars for 2015

Mercedes has supplied safety and medical cars for the Formula One championship since 1996, beginning with the old C36 AMG, and have now unveiled the two new models that will serve as Formula One racing's official safety and medical cars for the 2015 season. The German manufacturer's new GT S will make its debut as the official safety car in the season-opening race in Australia next weekend, replacing the gull-wing SLS AMG that has been used for the past five seasons. The ‘S' model was chosen due to its enhanced performance and track ability which are necessary to prevent the F1 car tyres and brakes cooling down too much when circulating at lower speeds.
