Chester: ‘Lotus will be part of the chasing pack'
Lotus Technical Director Nick Chester doesn't believe Mercedes have been caught for this season, but says that there is a chasing pack right behind, of which he believes his team will be part of. Lotus endured a dreadful 2014 season, with a problematic chassis and underpowered engine leading to a season of disappointment for both drivers Grosjean & Maldonado. Having swapped to Mercedes power for this season, and a more conventional design direction with the new E23, Lotus are expecting a big step in performance this year.
