Van der Garde starts legal action against Sauber
Giedo van der Garde has launched legal action against Sauber, claiming he was unfairly dismissed from the Swiss outfit, Australian media reports. The Dutch driver made his F1 debut for Caterham in 2013, before switching to Sauber as its reserve driver for the 2014 season. Van der Garde claims a deal was in place for him to race for the team in 2015, but it instead announced Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson, leaving him without a drive. He has now launched legal action in the Victorian Supreme Court in Melbourne and is seeking an urgent case so he can secure one of Sauber's race seats ahead of the season opener.
