Concussed Alonso to remain in hospital overnight
McLaren Honda McLaren says that Fernando Alonso will remain in hospital overnight for observations, having suffered a concussion during a pre-season testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday. Alonso hit the wall on the inside of Turn 3 and was transferred to the circuit Medical Centre before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. "Fernando’s accident was just one of those things that happens in testing," said McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier. "Fortunately, he’s fine, but was concussed during the accident, which therefore required an overnight stay in hospital as a precaution. That’s normal practice after a concussion.
