Barcelona Day 2: Ricciardo hands Red Bull a boost

Daniel Ricciardo gave Red Bull a boost by ending day two of the Formula 1 test in Barcelona fastest of all, amid concerns that the former world champions were in trouble ahead of the new season. Less than a tenth of a second covered Ricciardo, Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen in second and the Williams of Felipe Massa on the timing screens when the day ended, suggesting that things may be extremely tight at the sharp end. Ricciardo's best time of 1:24.574 was 0.01 of a second better than Raikkonen and Massa a mere 0.098 of a second off the top laptime.
