Sirotkin switches to GP2 with Rapax

Russian Sergey Sirotkin will switch from Formula Renault 3.5 to the GP2 series in 2015. The former Sauber Formula One tester has secured a deal to race with the Rapax team, with which he tested for two days at the end of last year. Sirotkin has raced full time in Formula Renault 3.5 for the past two years, having finished in fifth position in the standings with Fortec last season. He was set to race with Sauber in F1 in 2014 thanks to the team's Russian backers, but in the end he stayed in FR3.5 as the plan did not come through.  Rapax ran Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and Simon Trummer last year, but is yet to reveal who will partner Sirotkin.
