Symonds: Williams ‘weren't very organised'
Technical Director at Williams, Pat Symonds, says that the team lacked organisation and direction when he joined them in 2013.Symonds, who sat out a short ban from F1 due to his part in the 2008 Crashgate scandal at Renault, returned to F1 with Virgin Racing as a consultant in 2011. However, he soon moved back up the grid, as the former Enstone man was snaffled up by Williams in mid-2013 to replace the departing Mike Coughlan. This appears to have been a great move for all involved, as the team shot forward in 2014 under his direction, with the FW37 ending the 2014 season as the best of the rest behind the Mercedes W05.
