Mercedes hoping to conclude Hamilton deal before Australia

Mercedes executive director (business) Toto Wolff says Mercedes is hoping to finalise a new contract with Lewis Hamilton before the start of the 2015 F1 season in Australia. The reigning world champion's current deal expires at the end of the year. Talks were put on hold towards the end of the 2014 season so Hamilton could focus on securing the drivers' title. Wolff would ideally like the situation to be resolved before the 2015 season opener next month, but he says no official deadline has been set.
