Ex-F1 driver Kovalainen pursues Super GT route
Formula 1 race winner Heikki Kovalainen will return to full-time racing in 2015 after signing a deal to drive in the Japanese-based Super GT series. The Finn, who started 111 grands prix between 2007 and 2013, sat out the 2014 season after failing to land a return to F1 but has confirmed he will get behind the wheel of a Lexus RC F 2015 with the SARD team in Super GT. Kovalainen is the latest ex-F1 driver to look towards Japan for the next chapter of their motorsport career, with Kamui Kobayashi also opting to drive in the supporting Super Formula single-seater championship.
