Qatar closes on deal to join Formula 1 calendar

+ Qatar is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Bernie Ecclestone which will see it join the Formula 1 calendar in the next two years. The organisers of the event have faced a major stumbling block in the form of Bahrain, which currently holds the right to veto the addition of any other races in the Gulf region, a throwback to when it first join the F1 calendar in 2004.
