Fernley defends 'no' vote

Force India's deputy team principal Bob Fernley has revealed he voted no to Marussia running a 2014 car as their application 'lacked substance.' On Thursday, Formula 1's Strategy Group met with Marussia's fate just one of the topics discussed. The beleaguered outfit was seeking exemption to race a 2014 chassis this season which would pave the way for a buyer thus securing the team's future. However the Strategy Group - which needed to unanimously give the proposal the go-ahead - voted no.
