McLaren expect better test day after breakthrough

McLaren are confident they will enjoy a better day of testing on Tuesday after making a reliability breakthrough on Monday evening. The team completed just six laps on the second day of testing thanks to an unknown issue which took all morning and some of the afternoon to resolve. "The engineers duly attempted to fix matters throughout the morning, carrying out a number of installation runs, but were not able to arrive at a definitive cure," said a McLaren spokesperson. "The fix took most of the afternoon to effect, resulting in Jenson [Button's] running just a single additional lap at the end of the day, which we believe indeed proved to have cured the issue."
