Maldonado optimistic over Lotus potential

Lotus F1 Team Pastor Maldonado says he is optimistic over Lotus' potential after he enjoyed his first day of running in the squad's new E23 Hybrid. Maldonado endured a difficult 2014 campaign as he scored just two points but after being unable to hit the circuit on Sunday, he gave the car its public debut on Monday morning at Jerez. Maldonado racked up 41 laps to set the sixth quickest time before a drive train issue truncated his running.
