Russian Grand Prix set to remain a daytime event
The promoter of the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi has confirmed that the 2015 edition of the race will not be held at night, and will instead start one hour earlier than in 2014 at 2pm local time.
Built around the site of the village for the 2014 Winter Olympics, the Sochi Autodrom opened its doors last autumn before hosting the first Russian Grand Prix to be part of the F1 world championship in October.
Despite a trouble-free weekend and a good turnout, it was reported that the race organisers were hoping to hold the 2015 race as a twilight event, starting at dusk and finishing in the dark under floodlights.
