McLaren in contact with FIA

McLaren-Honda are in contact with the FIA, F1's governing body, about a ruling which will allow their rivals to continue improving their engine during 2015.Newcomers Honda, who are replacing Mercedes as McLaren's power providers in 2015, have been excluded from the loophole and instructed to homologate their V6 by February 28 – the date by which Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari had to freeze their engines last year following the sport's ‘rules revolution'.However, because no such stipulation exists for 2015, the trio will be permitted to use 32 ‘tokens' to develop and improve their engines through the course of the year.
