Hamilton named BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Lewis Hamilton was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year during Sunday's award ceremony from Glasgow, despite golfer Rory Mcllory heading into the public vote as favourite. The 2014 Formula 1 World Champion narrowly missed out on the award in his rookie season in 2007 and his first championship winning season in 2008. He came runner-up both times. "I am so speechless. I was really not expecting this. I'm so honoured to be among such amazing athletes.
